Frequently Asked Questions
Q. How does this site work?
A. It is structured the same way we teach at our studio – each dance is taught separately, yet there are elements of every dance that inform and enhance your ability in other dances! We include technique and tips in every segment. Each video is approx. 2 to 5 minutes long.
Q. What if the videos are jerky or stop playing every few seconds?
A. BROWSER: Like all streaming video, these videos need a robust internet connection. Are you using Internet Explorer as your browser? Internet Explorer tends not to work as well with streaming video as browsers Google Chrome, Safari, or Firefox browsers – all are free.
A. FLASH: You should also try updating your Adobe Flash viewer – click here for the link to the free download.
A. CONNECTION SPEED: If you have an older or slower internet connection, don’t hesitate to contact your provider. Some of our students have found (to their great delight) that the provider upgraded their speed AND lowered their price!
Q. I’d like to use my iPad (or even my iPhone!!)
A. FANTASTIC! We are totally compatible with iPhone and iPad now that our videos have been moved to vimeo service.
Q. I only want to learn one dance – is there a more limited membership option?
A. You are welcome to concentrate on your target dance, then cancel your membership. There is no further obligation. However, see our answer to the first question!
Q. Do you take requests?
A. Certainly! Email us your question, and we will post a video explanation or demonstration.
Q. How can I keep track of what I’m learning?
A. We encourage you to use the Progress Chart to check off when you’ve memorized the pattern and as you make progress with the different elements of technique and styling. You can also use it to make notes of particular tips or advice you found helpful in the dance lesson video segment so you can find it easily to review.
